Prayer 04.30.2017

Dear Lord,

Tonight as we begin another week, I ask you to remove all fear. To help bring clarity, focus, and wisdom to the circumstances of life.

I ask for a greater revelation of truth, strength, and faith. I ask you to help us find more ways for unity and victory.

Help us to claim the power you give us. Help us to follow through on our commitment to love in everything. To not shut people out. To be an extension of your arms and feet. To be willing to grow deeper in our walk with you.

I pray this in your most loving, caring, and loving name, AMEN!

Prayer 04.03.2017

Dear Lord,

Tonight I just want to say Thank YOU...Thank YOU.

THANK YOU...

For providing and surrounding me with great women of faith. When I was raised to believe that the only strong Godly women were those in the religious group I associated with for 36 years, you have shown me in so many ways how much deeper relationships with you exist, by people who do not just say they will pray for you, but actually pray with you.

For leading and guiding me, when I don't have the answers, but am determined to live in faith.

For showing me that when I open myself up to being vulnerable about my journey, you always bring someone into my life to speak more truth, light, love, grace, and mercy.

For giving me accountability buddies who help me transform and grow deeper into the Woman of Faith you are asking me to be. To work through those things holding me back. To face my fears. To have breakthroughs.

For believing in me when I do not believe in myself.

For helping me to create and live the life you want me to have.

For the love, joy, peace, harmony and forgiveness I have been able to experience since leaving a hurtful, abusive, and controlling childhood environment.

In reflection tonight, I just want to say Thank YOU! From the depths of my heart...I love you and appreciate you!!!

Your Daughter, aiming to live life courageously, generously, lovingly, authentically, and intentionally in freedom!

Prayer 03.15.2017

Dear Lord God of My Life,

Today I seek you for guidance and direction with those things on my heart. I ask you to show up in a way today that helps me see you, feel you and trust you (SFT) more deeply. Help me to learn the lessons you have for me today, all while knowing that today is a gift.

I ask you to help me realize that there is extreme power in my words, positive energy and affirmations set to confirm truth. I want to live more in alignment with the calling you have for me. Help me to know what to say no to and what to say yes to. Help me to keep my priorities in focus and my eyes on the vision and end goal. Help me to not loose heart and focus on the good things you are doing, in and through me.

Help me to love myself to the same level and depth you do, so that I can love others fully. Help me to have grace for myself, and extend this grace to others. Help me to forgive myself, so that forgiveness of others is prominent.

Help me to seek truth, always. Help me to infuse every aspect of my day with peace, to release all anxiety and worry, to face my fears by just doing it any way. Guide me and direct me through this process as I at times get caught up in the storm. Show me ways to live out the truth of all these things with more authenticity, with courage, in strength, with dignity, by love and always in hope with grit.
I pray this in your most loving, powerful and generous name, AMEN!

Prayer 02.28.2017

Dear Lord,

Today we ask you to be with us in every moment of our day. Help us to stay focused on the important things. Show us how to be productive in our tasks. Simply doing the next best thing.

Help us to loose sight of the things hurting our heart. To give more space for peace and love. To forgive them for they know not what they do to us, even if they do. To give our attention and energy to the things we wish to see abound in our lives.

Give us the ability to grasp this day, enjoying the gift that it is. Not so hurried that we can't smile, give a hug, or share a kind word. To say thank YOU, first to you, for this life you give us, and to all those in our life. The ones helping things to run smoothly for us. The ones who are hands and feet of you to us. The ones in our circle.

Give us the strength we need to ride the waves. Help us to keep our eyes on you. Let us connect to your power for you have made us whole, new, complete, perfect, and free.
In Your Most Loving and Amazing Name I pray, AMEN!!!

my first published prayer

When your friend sends you a message to let you know your prayer, written out in your prayer journal, as you read along side the daily devotions of the Created to Be Devotional by Gateway Church, that you shared and posted daily on their Facebook Page Notes each day for 28 days of January 2017, and it gets published in their monthly Gateway Life Magazine...
To remind you that the power of prayer is deep.
To remind you of your own words at a time when you need them.
To remind you why being a ripple effect is so important.
To remind you to remember the truths of gratitude, compassion, love.
To remind you to believe.

prayer changed me

Things happen in life that sometimes we do not have the answer for. Sometimes we do not know why we are lead to do something. Sometimes all we have to do is answer the call. We really just need to live more focused on the vision, staying attentive to being intentional in each moment of the day, and connected to our hearts purpose and let things come about as they should. Because they will. All the little pieces come together and you will be right where you need to be at the right time.

I was raised in a "christian" home. I put it in quotes, because in my opinion, it is and it was a label. My parents said they believed in God, but did nothing to really trust Him. They told me to pray, but didn't show me how to pray. They shared lots of principals from the Bible on how we were "supposed" to live. They pointed out everyone else's faults and how they could do something better or how it should be done different. Both of my parents lived in anxiety, deep fear, and lacked peace. When I asked on how to have a relationship with God, I was told to read the Bible. I was told to pray, but never shown really how to pray. As a family, the only time my parents prayed was at dinner or before a Bible Study.

I felt my prayers were always ones of anguish, frustration, anger, hurt, pain, difficulty and challenges. I felt that I never met God's approval. I felt God was always so very very very far away. I felt like He wasn't even listening because I did not get a response. I felt alone when I prayed.

My parents met a family and they invited me to go with them on a trip for a few days, and I was surprised when my parents let me go. Before we pulled out of the driveway to head out in their huge big van, we all clasped hands together and prayed for safety on the road, for the people we would meet along the way, for God's Will to be provided in the trip, for great memories to be made, for traveling mercies in our return back home, and for those who were left behind that couldn't join us.

I sat in fear. For one, to be praying with strangers I hardly knew, actually only knew because they came to our weekly Bible Studies that my parents held at our house. And at the same time, I sat there in awe. How could someone pray like this before they went on the road somewhere? Wow. It was new to me.

When I moved out from California to Texas, September 1997, I got to be in various peoples homes and hear how they prayed. The person who stuck out to me the most was someone who was a father like figure to me of a girl my own age. He always prayed with such fervor as if God was sitting there right with us and he was holding his hand as one of us. He prayed in such a way, both joyous and sorrowful, sometimes weeping loudly. I would sit and look on and wish I had that kind of prayer life with Jesus.

Then when I left "The Group" I was raised with and had been a part of for 37 Years of my life, I went to my first "Church" experience December 2012. I walked into a building where I knew nobody except a couple from my Women's Bible Study Group who invited me. One of their friends, came up to me and asked if they could pray with me. Not for me. They asked if they could pray with me. I said sure, not for one moment prepared for what this was going to e like. Right there in the isle way at Church, they reached out and put their hands on my shoulders and prayed. Prayed for my experience in Church. Prayed for God to be with me in my relationship with Him. Prayed for me to feel connected to him in a way I never had before. Prayed for direction and guidance and wisdom. I left again in awe that someone who didn't know me, would pray like this for me.

When my boyfriend and I were dating, before he started the car and pulled out of the apartment complex, he would pray for our safety on the road, for out time together and that we would have fun. Every time. I now wasn't shocked that people did these things, but I was curious when and how and why this became a part of his life. I learned his Dad did it and it always meant something to him and so he always did it with me. I will treasure this memory forever.

Needless to say, prayer has become a BIG part of my life. As I have worked on myself the last 3, almost 4 Years, since leaving "The Group, my transformation has been phenomenal. I have taken to studying relationships even deeper with the new tools I have. I have contemplated more as to what makes them work and what prevents them from working. I have learned patterns about me and others. I have spent time looking at communication, the amount of time spent asking questions, the ways to show up and contribute, and what it means when we seek to understand before being understood. I have taken these same principals and applied them to my relationship with God.

I frequently will ask how I can pray for you on Facebook. I often write out my prayers on here and on my personal blog. I sometimes will write out prayers to people privately. I have seen enormous power in prayer.

So about 6 weeks or so ago, when someone responded to one of my prayers to them, they asked if I knew a way to increase their prayer life and I recommended a book called Fervent by Priscilla Shirer. Their response was this is great, but I would love to read this with others to work through my questions. They went on to say that they felt they needed help with prayer, struggled to know how to pray, felt fear in praying and wished they could pray and write prayers like I do. I responded that I loved the book and would read it along with them as I had done it last summer with a girlfriend and got so much out of it. Then they asked if maybe we could get a group of ladies together and do this. My response was of course, are you serious about this or is it just an idea? She said, I am serious. I said when and we decided a time. It was this simple. This is what began the journey of me leading a group of ladies in a weekly study in this book.

Do I feel "qualified" to do this? No.
Do I feel I have "all the answers"? No. Absolutely no.
Do I feel my enemies are looking on going "who does she think she is"? Yes, I do.
Do I know God is asking this of me? Yes.
Do I feel that my prayer life can grow further? Yes.

But...when God asks something of you, He will show you and you do not have to feel qualified, have all the answers, consider what others think, you just go.

So today marks the first day of 12 weeks of helping these women to grow a deeper prayer life with God. Helping to help them sort through their questions. Taking their prayer requests and praying with them.

I ask you to pray with me and for me. I ask you to pray with them and for them.

Prayer 01.02.2017

Dear Lord,

As we begin this #NewYear may we deeply remember that we have brand new mercies each day. New opportunities. New paths. Our slate gets wiped completely clean. We don't have to hold onto guilt, shame, regret or fear. We can move forward with increased faith, boldness and bravery. You are with us!!! We can walk in new outlooks. New routines. New chapters.

I ask that you help keep our focus to be intentional in the way we live our lives, the people whom we connect with and how we create relationships. That we remember each and every day is a gift and what we do with it when we open it is our choice. You give us a choice in how we live our lives and our results are directly related to how connected we are to you, how we live with courage and hope, how resilient we can stay to the daily fight.

May we focus on choosing to "Settle for More" [read Megyn Kelly's book] and living the abundant life you have given each of us. May we not loose heart in any experience we are facing in life. May we not be defeated by the challenges and struggles, but see them as opportunities to grow and be overcomers.

As each of us pick out a word for 2017 to be our theme, or set new goals to achieve in 2017, or ways we want to transform our lives for 2017, may we do so with a heart that seeks you first in everything, stopping in the moments when we feel overwhelmed to just take a breath and ask you for help, to take a moment and refocus on the vision we have for our lives that comes from you, to ask you for wisdom, guidance and strength, to renew our purpose and passion for life. May we be relentless in this.

Prayer 12.20.2016

Dear Lord,
As we near the celebration of your birth in just 5 short days, may we feel the essence of this season more deeply. May we connect with you more fully. May we exude more love, grace and mercy not just to others, but to ourselves.
May we reflect on all the fruits of the spirit and what that looks like in every aspect of our lives. When the day feels long, dark, and we are lost, figuratively or literally, may we first seek you for direction, wisdom and guidance. May we have more hope when we feel an increase of doubt. May we find more gratitude when we are seeing and feeling more intense stress.
May we be diligent to pursue you fully with all our heart, our mind, our soul, our strength because you are love, light, life and truth!
In your powerful loving name that brings happiness to my soul, AMEN!

Prayer 12.05.2016

To my amazing God, who is my life!

I pray today for each of us to have the strength to face the challenges ahead of us. With joy. With hope. With anticipation. I pray that we do not loose heart in the battle. For you, are with us!!! What more protection, guidance and options could we want? We already have the ultimate of all resources with us!!! May our perspective be enlightened as we move forward opening the present of today, Monday, December 5th, 2016.

Help us to feel your presence in each moment of the day. Help us to connect to our heart. Help us to look at ourselves as you see us. Help us to welcome these challenges because through them, we get more connection, more results, more faith, and can experience more love.

Your Daughter endeavoring to live more fully aware of you each and every day,

Wednesday, November 30, 2016

My dear Misty

My dear Misty Gilbert,

I have promised to never leave you or forsake you. Why do you act like you are all alone? I see everything. You don't have to act like I am not aware. I know more then you give me credit for. What if you tried to see it from my perspective? What if you remembered that I am in control? What if you realized I have already won this battle?

I know it hurts. It hurts like hell. Your heart has been punctured yet again, driving the wound deeper. Making you question things you shouldn't. Making you doubt and loose your strong courageous heart. You know the truth in these dark days you are facing. Will you seek the light in me? Or will you turn your face to the darkness? I have promised to guide you. Will you give me a chance?

You sing worship songs that you trust me, that you love me, that you believe in me. Will you walk this out? Not just in music but in your daily life, with courage? Yes, I am asking you to have more courage then you have had to date. Today, in the midst of challenges, in the unknown, I want you to believe you are loved.

What if I want to see your faith in action? What if I want to see you be brave? What if I am asking you to be bold? What if all of this was preparing you for the next Chapter that I want you to walk through? What if you really, truly, believed that I am in control of all things? What if you took hold of these truths to a greater level? What if you didn't hold back?

Will you let me love you? Will you let me show you how much I care? Will you give me the place I want in your life? Or will you shove me out? I don't make empty promises to you. I have never let you down.

Quit letting people take you back to somewhere I took you away from.

Quit letting people put you in a box you don't belong in.

-Quit letting other peoples opinions of you define what you think, how you feel, what you do, what you say, and how you live!

I am working a deep beautiful amazing and marvelous plan in you. Will you let me perfect this in you or will you let them destroy you?

I pray today that you will go forward, with more courage, more love, more hope, and more determination to fight the good fight, to be all in the game, to not be discouraged, to pursue me with your whole heart because I am for you and have never been against you! I honestly LOVE YOU and don't need you to prove anything in our relationship.

Prayer 11.22.2016

Dear Lord,

Today as we reflect on our lives, I pray that we will realize that life can sometimes be like a game of Checkers or Chess (or really any other game), we have to take time to contemplate the next move. We have to consider options. We have to decide what we feel we should play. We have to decide how we will show up. We have to make a plan, plan our plan, and be committed to our plan. We have to ultimately have a vision of where you want to go and the end result of the game so you can create each play in the game.

Let us not forget that in every moment, we have to ultimately act. We can talk all day about a plan, but action is what creates results. And through action we show the world our choice.

We have to trust that we will know that you will guide us into which move is right. We know that it is through making decisions repeatedly and being disciplined that we get results. We also know that you give us a choice to choose. We have freedom in this power you give us. Help us to make the play that you want us to.

Sometimes we have to position ourselves for a loss so we can have a bigger or better or more important win. Sometimes we get crowned King or Queen. Sometimes we conqueror everything in our path. Sometimes we loose it all. Sometimes the things we loose aren't nearly as important as the energy we give them. Just as some of the wins we really want aren't nearly as important as we place them to be.

Sometimes we feel the whole play is taking too long. Sometimes the whole outcome unravels and happens all very quickly. Sometimes we see what is coming and sometimes we are blind sighted. But in all of this, your timing is perfect, and we need to realize that you are the master of the game. We can't let the game determine the outcome of our enjoyment of it.

We are told that those who win are the winners of life and those that loose are the losers of life. Yet, in reality, the score doesn't matter. You've covered all the wins and all the losses. Help us to not get stuck in the wins or the losses but to enjoy the game.

Help us to see each person on the team who is fighting with us to stay in the game. Help us to appreciate all the players, not just the ones on our team but the ones fighting against us, for they help strengthen us. They help us become better in the game. They help create the character inside of us to play the game. They show us what we need to learn to be a better player. They also make us see what is possible in ourselves when we can't see it. Help us to take the blows that are dealt directly at us and be a champion. Help us to remember that we are always being watched.

In all of this game of life, you are always with us, in every move. We do not have to be afraid. We do not have to have worry. We do not have to be discouraged. You give us hope. You give us strength. You only ask us to believe in faith. To trust you. And above all love you and your players.

Today as we continue to play our game, may we be more devoted to focusing on being intentional in our connections, relationships and time with each other. May we be the arms and feet of you to all those who come into our game. May we forgive. May we give grace. May we treat each other the way we want to be treated.

May we make more choices to love in spite of the pain we have experienced in life. May we choose faith over doubt. May we share more truth and light. May we choose love. May we never loose heart in the game and always stay focused.

In your loving and powerful name I pray, AMEN!

Prayer 10.10.2016

Today Lord, I pray for those hurting who can't see past their tears, their pain, their discouragement, their grief, their circumstances. I pray for those that desire to see things shift in their life. I pray that they will open their heart up deeper to trust you. To move past the areas of regret, shame, guilt and fear.
To believe. To have hope. To choose positivity over negativity. To believe that it all starts with us making a choice and allowing you to give us power. Knowing we have your power inside of us. Knowing that you give us all the tools to live and do our tasks here. Knowing that we do not have to fight any harder than with your armor.

Prayer 08.23.2016

Dear God,
Today, I step out in faith, deeper as I search for answers to questions I have. Deeper as I acknowledge areas I am making mistakes and floundering to carry out what you have asked of me. Deeper as I desire to grow more like you have called me to be.
To be bold.
Courageous.
Strong.
Generous.
A heart to learn.
Loving.
Always seeking truth.
I ask that you help me to see a way around my obstacles. I ask you to help me to create more internal peace in the midst of challenges of being disrespected, dishonored, and abused. Help me to keep pursuing you and not focus on these offenses. Help me to stay the course and continue an upward gaze, fixed on the outcome, not the circumstances. Help me to see how to utilize the strength you have given me to face today, this moment, and nothing else. Help me to see that fear paralyzes me, holds me back, builds walls, creates barriers, makes the challenge 100 times more then what it really is. Help me to not grow weary in this path you have called for me to walk.
Because I love you Jesus.
I pray in your most loving powerful abundant and limitless name, AMEN!

Prayer 08.17.2016

Dear God,
I ask you to lead each of us today. To see that when there is chaos showing up either in our heart, our mind, or in our lives that you ask us to look to you, just as Peter did when the waves were creating intense turmoil around him, overwhelming him with doubt and fear. You want us to embrace the chaos and learn how to not fight it but let it strengthen us and give us more courage, hope and love.
It is a process of pruning us at times, which means it will hurt as things are cut off and damaged and removed. It is a process of refining us at times, which means it will grate like sandpaper or be intense heat as it purifies us and makes us smooth and more like you. It is a journey and we should embrace each aspect of it, not just endure it, but be ALIVE in it. Not letting it squelch the love or purpose that you have for us.
Help us to be a reflection of you, to be closer to you, seeking the truth you give. You will shine light on the darkness. You are the hope that leads us out of the dark. The darkness will never overcome the light and we have to believe that even though it may be really really really dark, light remains.
Help us to see we have a choice in all things that come our way. What we think. What we feel. How we respond. How we move forward. How we react, even just internally. Let us see that we are not victims, but overcomers that can live abundantly in freedom. Sometimes this means our prayer never ceases all day long because we need you giving us energy, breath and life as you fill us with you so we can get to the next step.

Prayer 08.10.2016

Dear God,
Some days we think it would be better to run. To walk out the door. To say I quit. To tell ourselves the fight isn't worth it.
To embrace the shadow. To forget about exposing the light. To not have any hope. To believe that nobody cares. To tell ourselves that we aren't making any difference. To not focus on the good things.
We get focused on our circumstances. Unable to see that you are working a plan and planning your work in us. If we would only stop and breathe. To feel your love and allow it to motivate us in all our moments.
If only we would be more bold. Have more light. Give more love when we feel we have given all. If only we would live in the abundant life you have given us and not focus on the waves, the enemies, the lies.
We have a choice to choose to believe your truth! Your love! Your purpose for our lives! We have a choice to see you working in ALL the little details! We have a choice to ask you for direction! We have a choice to accept that you always are walking with us! We have a choice to let you into our deepest thoughts, emotions, dreams and visions!
Lord help us today to carry this out to an even deeper level! I want to Lord. I so very much do.

Prayer 08.01.2016

Dear Lord,
Please be with me today. Help me to continue to fight the good fight. To keep my focus on you and not the things around me threatening to tear me down, to discourage me, to build fear and not faith, to thwart my purpose, to create apathy in me. Help me to love those that fight me, whose goal is to suck the life out of me, who don't encourage, support and inspire me to live the abundant life you have given me in freedom! Help me to be different. To choose the path you have for me and not follow the crowd. Help me to believe. Deeper. To believe you have my back. Completely.
Give me the strength to continue to pursue you with all my heart, my soul, my mind, my strength. I love you with every breath of my life!
Thank YOU Jesus for loving me. Being patient with me. In everything. Help me to appreciate you more.
In Jesus Name I pray all these things to be my outlook today. AMEN!

Prayer 06.29.2016

Dear Most Gracious Loving Heavenly Father,
Today I am lift up my Facebook Friends to you. The ones struggling to find their way, the ones lost not knowing which direction to look for answers, confused by the outcome of situations, frustrated by the challenges life has brought to them, concerned they can't make it, and feeling overwhelmed in the process.
I ask you to give show them today that you LOVE them. I ask you to bring someone into their path to show them a bit of light to propel them forward. I ask you to show up today in a way that they feel and know it is YOU!
You tell us if we seek you (draw nigh) to you, you will be there for us (you draw nigh to us). You state clearly that we will not be destroyed if they seek you with all our mind, all our heart, all our soul, all our strength. Today, show us how to do that more fervently.
Help each of us not to waste anymore time today pushing off what they can do now. Give us the motivation and strength to do the next best thing. One simple step. One task. One prayer. One hug. One smile. One dollar towards debt. One statement saying I am sorry. One choice that will have a ripple effect. One question to find the truth we are seeking.
May we remember that your presence goes before us and we can choose to walk with you today in everything we say and do. Let us be used for you today to encourage, support and inspire others!

Prayer 05.17.2016

I am doing the Fervent Bible Study by Priscilla Schirer with a girlfriend and this week's homework was to create a Prayer for Passion. May you be blessed in writing out your own prayer for passion in your life...
Dear God, Today I thank YOU for your presence in my life. For allowing me to call on you, to come to you, to pray to you, to search for you with all my heart, with all my soul, with all my mind and with all my strength because I love you and it's my heart to know you! In the ways I lack courage to pursue the abundant life you have given me, I ask you to open my eyes, fuel my heart, guide my feet, strengthen my mind, increase my faith, in my purpose and plan you have for my life. I ask you to ignite a deeper, stronger passion and abundant passion within me. I ask you to continue to help me see my limiting beliefs and strongholds that disempower me and destroy my passion for life. Give me the determination to fight the good fight and focus on the good things, choosing to embrace your grace. I believe and trust in your power to strengthen and refresh my passion for you, and for others and for life with love. May the light of my spirit be seen each and every day in my intentions to be courageous, generous and loving! I pray this in Jesus amazing and most powerful name, AMEN!

Dear God,
THANK YOU for the way you show up in my life. To show me you love me. Just me. As I am today. Right here. Right now. To accept me as I am. Not asking me to be somebody I am not. To not require me to be anything you don't want me to be.
You encourage me. To keep pursuing you no matter who rejects me. No matter what life deals me. No matter what path I take. You walk right beside me.

For believing in me when I don't believe in myself. For giving me grace. For showing me that I can choose in this moment to create the life I want.
For how you help to bring clarity in the moment of confusion and chaos. In deep emotional pain. In the beautiful gifts of each day.
To make me see that life is truly what I make of it. Every moment. Every day. Every month. Every year.
I love you Jesus!
