poem ~ the words

When you hear the words I never wanted you
it’s impossible to comprehend,
Why someone would become a parent
and make a choice to this end.

When you hear the words I don’t want
to have you in my life,
It makes you question all the things you said and did
including all the charity funds you felt cause to give.

When you hear the words I won’t forgive you
by someone you thought was a Friend,
The meaning of such words just confuse you
when they promised to be there till the end.

When you hear the words I don’t love you
even though I said I did,
Sometimes rejection takes awhile
to heal the residual painful ends.

When you hear the words I hurt you
it pierces deep within the heart,
For that was never the intent
to bring grief to any endless part.

When you heart the words I miss you
from someone you care about,
It makes your heart skip a beat
as you wonder how to fulfill the missing need.

When you hear the words I need you now
I want you to stop and think,
About the deposits that you’re making
into the lives of everyone you meet.

When you hear the words I forgive you
they always create a start,
To beautiful new beginnings
of a connected giving heart.

When you hear the words I will always give
you a piece of my heart,
I hope you know the impact you send
beyond the love and grace you generously extend.

When you hear the words I want you
to share with me this life,
It gives a new perspective
for the meaning of husband and wife.

When you hear the words I believe you
it always helps one begin,
Even when you feel you’re failing
to achieve the dreams you’ve been called to live.

When you hear the words I love you
they always melt the heart,
For love is something that will heal
every broken and bleeding mark.

When you hear the words I promise you
a life that never ends,
It brings hope to live in this moment
on this journey with you my Friend.

The truth will set you free
In spite of all the pain in you,
But in order to remove all the bad
You’ve got to detach from what you had.

The truth will set you free
But the process can be painful too,
To embrace something new
Means a part of you was untrue.

The truth will set you free
As you gasp the light in front of you,
No matter how dark it gets
You can choose to not be scared of it.

The truth will set you free
When you let go of what you think you believe,
And choose to open up your heart
To a perspective beyond just a little part.

The truth will set you free
And give you hope that's mightily,
As you embrace life intentionally 
You’ll see the art in living with liberty.

The truth will set you free
But it takes purpose to let it be,
In how it guides you there
When everything feels like a dare.

The truth will set you free
Even when others try to keep you there,
Just let the noise go silent for a few
Letting the light illuminate the answer in you.

Why do you hold back
and only show us part of you,
When what we really want to see 
is the full view not just the profile of you?

Why do you just give us a glimpse
of the side of your face,
As if you have something to hide
or don't want us to see the look in your heart that resides?

Why do you hide your eyes from view
afraid to tell the story in you,
Do you think you can keep this undercover
believing we won’t ever be able to discover?

Why do you hide your pain away
when your energy reads it very plain,
Your audience wants to know the truth
why you keep this shadow so close to home in you?

Why do you keep this part of you a secret
when all the rest of you has been written and shared to view,
What will it take for you to feel safe
and be vulnerable with all of us with what is at stake?

Why won’t you let us love you for you
as you teach us to think about ourselves too,
What will it take for you to see 
that we really do love every part of thee?

poem ~ If God Said

If God was in the beginning 
and is in the end,
Is it possible to ever be without God? 

If God said
He made all living things,
Is it possible that He had a purpose when He made Satan too?

If God said 
you will know good and evil,
Is it possible that knowing good and evil was God's plan as a tool of enlightenment now that He has given you with a choice?

If God said
you were made in His likeness,
Is it possible for you to be wrong when God crafted all of you?

If God said 
the truth will make you free, 
Is it possible you don't have the truth if you feel unfree?

If God said
I came that you might have life, 
Is it possible to give up the fight to find life and realize you already have it?

If God said
your faith has made you whole,
Is it possible it's not a prayer or baptism or asking forgiveness or confession of sins that makes you whole? 

If God said
all things work together for your good,
Is it possible nothing that happens is bad because it all has a useful purpose?

If God said
He has given each of us gifts,
Is it possible that you aren't using the gifts God has given you?

If God said
you can do all things,
Is it possible this means He had given you the same power to be an overcomer? 

If God said 
faith is the substance of things,
Is it possible that your life won't be what you want without faith?

If God said 
seek me and you will find me,
Is it possible this seeking God isn't to do so in The Bible or Church but that He is in everything and everywhere and that this is how He wants us seeking Him? 

If God said
there is no condemnation, 
Is it possible that we've got the wrong perspective in how we view ourselves and others?

The fun thing about being single
is there's no one to tell me when,
I have to go to bed
or what TV show I must watch instead.

The fun thing about being single
is I get all the covers to myself,
I can even sleep in the middle
without ever thinking twice.

The fun thing about being single
there's no one to blame for reals,
About all the money spent
for living life with all these bills.

The fun thing about being single
and searching for a better life,
There's no one to interrupt
the stories running though my head about life.

The fun thing about being single
nobody expects me to make them a meal,
And nobody is gonna complain
when I took the last of what it was they want.

The fun thing about being single
is I can talk to myself,
And nobody will hear me
for there isn't anyone listening to my voice.

The fun thing about being single
in reality is many things,
Because every phase of life
has beauty in everything.

poem ~ Love Like Pure Water

Oh how I want to really live
A life full of love
To everyone I shall give.

A life that will love
With a heart pure like water
For out of it generosity flows wider.

To be pure like water 
Means my reflection it will bare
Every mark of intention and authenticity flare.

And to reflect clarity there
I must genuinely seek
Excellence in all my pathways that meet.

To genuinely live purely
Is to be renewed fully
By forgiveness and love solely.

In renewal I will find
My heart is just like thine
And to love is simply just kind.

For my heart wants to know
And authentically grow
To expand love just like the oceans depth.

As authentically you discover
Its view is like no other
With various hues to uncover.

When the view of love you see
You’ll profoundly be free
To live from the heart intentionally.

Once you’ve been made free
No longer can you ever be
Enclosed in any boxes indefinitely.

To love like pure water
Is my hearts call to you
For the impact is undoubtedly beautifully true.

As you answer your hearts call
I hope you’ll give it your all
For to really love isn’t ever small.

The choice to give your all today
Is the message love has to say
There’s always more as you can’t give it all away.

As you reflect on this message my friend
Please know the benefits will never end
As to love like pure water is where it begins.

poem ~ the wall of pain

We all have inner wounds
that bring deep grieving too,
For circumstances that happen
that we never planned to go through.

Sometimes they can hurt worse
with even the gentlest touch,
For the pain that's on the surface 
can be triggered by oh so much.

When someone thinks they're helping
and tries to comfort you with their care,
Sometimes you wish they could see the truth
of everything going on in there.

No matter how it looks
from the outside looking in,
I promise even in pretending to be tough
they really want the pain to end.

It takes a heart to be vulnerable 
to share the details with you,
So you can change your perspective about
all the things that they've been through.

It's weird what can trigger it deep
even after years of healing energy,
The wounds can leave such great scars
for healing comes through layers and parts.

It can be as simple as a glance
or snide remark or two,
That pushes their hot buttons
as memories come flooding through.

To share in someone's pain
means to love them through it all,
For to make it harder for them
will only build up invisible walls.

No matter how it may seem
to someone else today,
Kindness to each and everyone
will help them make it through these things.

You wonder what you can do
to change someone's life,
When all it takes is
to give them a bit of your time.

Help them to see
how you value you and me,
And show them you really care
by the way you feel about their affairs.

Listen to what's going on
inside their heart and mind today, 
And let them know you're sorry
for all the pain exposed along the way.

Look into their eyes
and see the beauty of who they are,
Quit trying to heal 
all their deep wounds and ugly scars.

Feel their perspective as your own 
in all that grieves their soul,
And then maybe you'll come to know
the person you wish you'd always known.

Say the words they need
to hear from you just because, 
For you can never say them enough
when I Love You benefits all of us.

Don't stop and ask what you can do
instead just look around to see,
For I promise there's much more
then you could ever hope to explore.

poem ~ the beach view

I see this view
in front of me,
My heart feels connected
to everything I see.

Peace and calm
with music and a beat,
The sounds of the island 
are a gorgeous retreat. 

The depth of the sky
and it's colors complete,
From sun up
to the sunset out of reach.

The beauty of the water
as the sun shifts though the day,
Changes in the hues 
as it ripples far away.

How can I not leave
a part of me, 
In this beautiful place
that surrounds me?

The beach is calling 
out my name,
I'll answer the call
to find my home in its frame.

Life so simple
and yet so complete,
The joys of each day
in each moment are so neat.

The time here has been
amazing to the core,
As I unplug and rejuvenate 
every part of me even more.

I will miss days like this
as I return to the routine without this view,
But I know in my soul
it's only a matter of time til I come again it's true.

I wonder what would happen
if we focused on love and not hate,
I wonder if we would find
a life without judgment we would make?

I wonder what would happen 
if in this vision of living true,
We spent more time removing the mask
instead of blindly walking through?

I wonder what would happen
in the sorrows we face each day,
If we’d find that in the open space of our mind 
was the greatest way to live alive?

I wonder what would happen
if in learning to be just us,
We understood that the foundation of all love
starts with the concept of complete self-love?

I wonder what would happen
if we’d come to really see,
That all the issues we thought exist
really were from a loveless principal of belief?

To think that the things you post
should come to divide the ones you love most,
When really in this world so wide
all your trying to do is live your life.

Yet even the best of Friends 
with hearts aligned in front of them,
Will separate apart its true
because of words written in truth.

No matter how you say it

Some will never see it
for your perspective is blind from their view.

It will sneak upon you
and probably even rock your world in two,
And though you’ll try to make amends
the time has come for the relationship to end.

It looks to me
like you’re hiring fear
Because of what you pay for it
in the life that you hold dear.

It looks to me
that fear is an amazing friend
Because of how close
you keep it near in the end.

It looks to me
that fears one of your friends
Because of how well
you keep in touch with them.

It looks to me
that you’ve made boundaries a wall
You hide behind
even tho its no protection at all.

It looks to me
that you are agreeing with your chains
Believing that freedom
isn’t the promise that it brings.

It looks to me
that you think this is what you really want
Because the life that you keep living
leaves you forever on the hunt.

It looks to me
that you think the secret in life
Is what you can achieve
or call yours with pride.

It looks to me
that no matter what you see
You believe that happiness exists
somewhere outside of thee.

Inside of you is a deep dark hole
where vulnerability looms and grows,
What will it take for you
to discover this part of you?

Inside your heart down deep
is an abyss of beauty harbored to keep,
What will it take for you
to let a little bit of it shine through?

Inside of your being is a longing to be known
and accepted for every part that is unknown,
What will it take for you
to share it with the world and be thoroughly exposed?

Inside your soul is a gorgeous look
of intense feelings that would rock the brook,
What will it take for you
to paddle down in your own canoe?

Inside of your mind is the mansions you keep
and a story that stays secluded from reach,

to unlock the door to the room with a view?

The art of authenticity
means it isn’t something that eludes you,
It requires you just to be
you as only you can do.

The art of authenticity
means you will open up and share,
The things that are on  your heart
that are stored from the well in there.

The art of authenticity
means it only comes from you,
It isn’t forced or demanded from
a source outside your view.

The art of authenticity
means there is not another mold,
That can make the original you are
when there isn’t one to hold.

The art of authenticity
means to be creative in being you,
In all the things you like
and say, think and do.

The art of authenticity
means that you will be completely true,
To all the colors that there are
so deep inside of you.

The art of authenticity
means that you can never be fake,
Because to be something different than you are
would be an intrusion you can’t take.

The art of authenticity
means I will accept and love me for me,
To try to create something else
is to put my value upon the shelf.

The art of authenticity
means I honor you and me,
For when we see each other as we are
we show more love beyond the stars.
