poem ~ what if pain is a gift?

What if pain is a gift,
Of showing you
everything that is
and what is not so?

What if pain is a gift,
And isn't really a curse
but to help you believe
even when it hurts?

What if pain is a gift,
Of showing you what to remove
of the lies and stories
stuck inside of you?

What if pain is a gift,
That shows you the path
in the way to the truth
and the way out of shit?

What if pain is a gift,
And not something you can control
but to surrender to the work
that it's doing in your soul?

What if pain is a gift,
That you shouldn't run from
but needs to be comforted
to release the tension?

What if pain is a gift,
Was the chance to discover
the meaning of life
and the real you undercover?

What if pain is a gift,
Even when it's tearing you in two
to give you the ability
to become a more beautiful you?
