I reflect on my day
and am so grateful for you,
The part that you play
in my journey along side with you.
I reflect on my day
and the chance to relax,
And unwind from all the things
that've been filling my heart to the max.
I reflect on my day
and the music that was created,
With lyrics to encourage
and lift a soul that's been discouraged.
I reflect on my day
and what it will do,
To shift your perspective
when you allow it to.
I reflect on my day
and it's lessons for me,
As I continue to become
more bold and shining brilliantly.
I reflect on my day
and the courage to be me,
Living my life
with my heart intentionally.
I reflect on my day
and the simple life I can live,
Here at the beach
in my quiet retreat.
I reflect on my day
and the experiences I had,
To embrace creation
of God's beautiful island.
I reflect on my day
and the words just don't come,
For I know there won't be
another one just like this one.

poem ~ it looks to me
It looks to me
like you’re hiring fear
Because of what you pay for it
in the life that you hold dear.
It looks to me
that fear is an amazing friend
Because of how close
you keep it near in the end.
It looks to me
that fears one of your friends
Because of how well
you keep in touch with them.
It looks to me
that you’ve made boundaries a wall
You hide behind
even tho its no protection at all.
It looks to me
that you are agreeing with your chains
Believing that freedom
isn’t the promise that it brings.
It looks to me
that you think this is what you really want
Because the life that you keep living
leaves you forever on the hunt.
It looks to me
that you think the secret in life
Is what you can achieve
or call yours with pride.
It looks to me
that no matter what you see
You believe that happiness exists
somewhere outside of thee.
It looks to me
that if you would stop and just be
You’d see that the life you want
is the spot right where you are standing with me.
